  • 1973

    On November 28th, 1973, Anthony “Tony” Cavolo, a WWII veteran and Brooklyn, NY native, opened his first Peter Piper Pizza in Glendale, AZ.

  • 1976

    Tony stars in the first of many television commercials spanning more than two decades, wearing his trademark apron and chef’s hat.

  • 1980

    Opened our first Tucson restaurant – our initial venture beyond the Phoenix area. This is also the year we added games to our family restaurant experience.

  • 1982

    Opened our first Texas Peter Piper Pizza in El Paso. Today there are 49 restaurants across Texas

  • 1985

    Opened our 100th location in Phoenix on New Year’s Eve.

  • 1991

    Opened our first restaurant south of the border in Ciudad Juárez. Today there are more than 20 Peter Piper Pizza restaurants throughout Mexico.

  • 2013

    Celebrated our 40th year in business by launching Peter Piper 2.0, an upgraded experience combining the everyday dining experience to meet the needs of Millennial families.

  • 2016

    Peter Piper Pizza was acquired by CEC Entertainment, a combination to make it one of the largest pizza restaurant companies in the world.

  • 2022

    Opening of three Peter Piper Pizza Express new concept units in Phoenix and Tucson, AZ.

  • 2022

    Launched technology advancements including the debut of the Fun Pass® e-ticket program, new App and Loyalty Program.

  • 2023

    Opening of first Peter Piper Pizzeria in Kansas City, MO.
